My road to physical therapy has taken many twists and turns. I graduated from West Virginia University as an Industrial Engineer. After beginning a career in engineering, I soon realized something was missing from my work. I needed a job where I could create a greater connection with people. I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and I have never looked back.
Initially, I completed a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program at Seminole State College in Oviedo, Florida. As a PTA, I worked in home health to support patients transiting back into their homes after a hospital stay. Helping people solve mobility issues within their own home was very rewarding. Encouraged, I started a Doctor of Physical Therapy program at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences while working part-time as a PTA. After graduating with my doctorate, I looked for my next opportunity to grow as a physical therapist to provide the highest quality care to patients. I am excited to have found the residency program at Hand & Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialists and can’t wait to continue my journey of growth while making an impact on the lives of others.
Outside the clinic, I spend time hiking, running, and strength training with a focus on longevity. I have a particular interest in US travel and visiting national parks. Additionally, I volunteer my time with the Special Olympics and am always looking for opportunities to support the community.
